Frédéric Dune – Operating manager of the Millau Viaduct Eiffage Company
"To carry out such a great project as the Millau Viaduct requires to call upon a great number of local specialists, workmen and technicians, preferably trained.
We have been allowed to evaluate the response and the potential of the Millau employment basin.Nous avons pu mesurer la réactivité et les potentialités du bassin d’emploi de Millau.
During the building of the Viaduct, Eiffage recruited over a hundred people, with varied competence, who exercised various professions on the site after they had been trained.
The Viaduct operating also let us to recruit 50 people with different profiles such as maintenance men, patrol men, supervisors, toll collector, accountants, secretaries. This second wave was recruited rapidly, in 20 weeks.
We were able to do an efficient choice since we had received over 1200 applications.
Our experience of the Viaduct project prove that there is a genuine quality workforce reserve in Millau and around." |
